Main Street Farmer's Market

Main Street Farmer's Market

I visited one of the local outdoor markets today better known as The Main Street Farmer’s Market and got some great deals! I L-O-V-E fresh home grown fruits and vegetables and the costs are way lower than the grocery store prices. I met some great people and even learned a little about their farms and passions.

These are the fragrant herbs I bought for like a quarter:

In the vase I have the most fragrant rosemary I’ve ever bought, basil, and mint. In my handy dish rack/extension of my counter, I have beautiful squash, “Diva” cucumbers- you smell them before they get to your mouth and so refreshing, and cabbage. My gastric tract is gonna be happy happy happy!

Market Vegetables

I had to get some carbs too and ended up with a fiber good pecan cranberry muffin from Niedlov’s bakery. I will be visiting them tomorrow! Isn’t he handsome? He also complimented my hair, and those of you who have not seen my hair, it’s blonde and curly poofy. The muffin is really good too, yumm!

The market is open on Wednesdays 4-6pm. There is off street parking and plenty on street parking as well. Another little bit of what to do and where to go in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

See ya at the market next week with my trusty camera & custom usb drives to upload more pictures!

Aren’t farmer’s markets wonderful? We have several in San Francisco – of course, the one at the Ferry Building is very pricey but fun because of all the other gourmet restaurants and the views.

When my son was at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, I loved to be there on a Thursday evening because they closed off an entire downtown street for their weekly farmer’s market. Besides outstanding produce and farm items, they had entertainment, food vendors, crafts, etc.

At 65, I’ve done it! My poetry book – Life’s Journey by Carmen Henesy – is out on Amazon!
( Poems about the things that have been important to me in my journey through life, some humorous, some sad, some that may have meaning to you as well )
